    lyric finder

Is there a plug in for dBpower amp which will find lyrics of the song being played like evil lyrics. There seem to be loads for winamp but none for dBpower amp?

One of our members, Donny, has created a little applet that provides some Evil Lyric support. See this thread here:
Hi everybody, especially hose of you who like to have the lyrics for your songs ;) So after some talk with the Evil Lyrics team where is a test app that will keep that link beetwen dAP and EL. while it's on it will update the song title and artist to EvilLyrics, and that will on the other hand load up the lyrics.... as

yeah, hope you'll find what you are looking for in this one

maybe I'll do what I said a year ago the implementation into qm, but there were some potential problems for people without EL installed, so I delayed it, and well there wasn't much talk of this now wasn't there ?

hmm, is evillyrics properly installed on your system? I know that can cause problems, if it didn't register all the components right
maybe there is problem with the version of EL? I'm using 0.1.8 RC3 if it helps...

              uph...

I will do a check if I installed some extra parts, or registrations for this to work... anyway I hope I'll do it in the next few days and then reply...

just to check what OS are you running?

and could anyone else confirm that this works on their pc? or doesn't?

It works for me but you have to call it from the dapsong.exe file each time you use it.
First, open dAP (dBpowerAMP Audio Player),
next, open EvilLyrics (which will be blank),
                finally, open up dapsong.exe.

This is what works for me. Hope it helps.

                        Re: lyric finder

I think your system is almost certainly OK (I am running Windows XP Home SP2 on a Celeron 1.3 GHz processor with 384 MB RAM).
What version of dBpowerAMP Audio Player (dAP) are you running? If you are running dAP r 2, I would recommend you upgrade to dAP r3 beta 6 ahich is available from the beta section of the forum here:
This is Release 3 beta 6, highlights include: Crossfade on Skip, support for 24 bit audio, DSP effects. dAP has been updated with a major new feature - syncing with a portable device (as handled by Sveta). Under 'Collection' button is a 'Synchronize with portable player', select the player and if necessary set also a

Although this is considered by the developer to be a beta version it is at least as robust and safe as dAP r2 and it has been out for quite some time now. I am not sure whether this will fix your problem.

I am not at home to test this out and I don't usually use dapsong and EvilLyrics. I do seem to have error messages pop up when dAP moves from one song to the next (or maybe it is just when I skip to a new song) the dapsong window will show the new track but there will be an error box (whose message I will quote later since I can't access the exact wording right now-but it is along the lines of something being unsupported). Butwhen I click to close the box EvilLyrics will go ahead and display the next song. (While I suspect your error message may be coming from a different source, I mention this just in case you haven't tried this).

Can you provide any other specifics when you are getting your error message (right after you go to open dapsong, when dAP has started, when EvilLyrics tries to open or after EvilLyrics has opened) and the exact quote for the error message?

                        Best wishes,
                        Bill

yes there is a question that could help... does dapsong run at all? and if it runs does it change song names when dap changes?

does it display an error message then shutdown, or does it show a bunch of error messages continuasly? this could help finding where exactly is the problem...

hmm, I am kinda puzzled, this all is a rather simple operation, but it is largely based on system procesing the commands, so if I must guess I would say that there is some little thingy set up the wrong way for all of this in your op.system. couldn't say what, I know it may seem silly, but I've seen some weird dependencies...

But maybe I am wrong and still overlooking something. haven't found nothing that I installed special for this...
