Alpha 8 Released

When ripping secure will move to next track whilst encoding first (reference feature)
added [cddb_id] to the file naming
When encoding to CLI Encoder then setting that uses added to 'Encoder Settings' tag value, not whole CLI string (such as encoder location)
DSP Effects added (replaygain, resample, bit depth, etc)
Caches decoder locations
Tries different ripping commands if one fails (msf, lba)
Added Protected audio popup default
CD Ripper shows ripping tool bar
itunes7 + wmp compatibility (uses TPE2 for album artist)

bug fix: selecting drive on insert cd popup was not selecting drive on main frm
bug fix: nero or plain ASPI was matching first cd drive letter for all drives (ok still is cludgy as cannot really match ASPI lun, host to a real drive (without using SPI)
bug fix: Windows [Internal] Communication was getting drive name wrong (actually is a bug in Windows XP...)
bug fix: creating utf8 encodings could loose characters from end
bug fix: on install shell integration now works

Also all codecs updated, so reinstall at same time

Codec Update

New Midi decoder added.
Musepack codec updated to 1.16 (with better seeking)

Also these two codecs use a new version of the installer (more friendly with Vista and virus checkers should not flag installs as possible suspicious files anymore).

Added Batch Converter (was called previously File Selector)
Added configuration option Folder right click 'batch convert'
Version numbers in configuration
Check for updates in configuration
bug fix: small screen resolution cd ripper leaving hidden txt boxes on screen
bug fix: massive fixes now compatible with Win9x (and possibly Win64)

(nb Batch converter is not installing Unicode version, will be fixed for beta 2)

scripting com object complete, added new read write tag and audio props method, see:

Music Converter Compatible with utility codecs which do not require audio decoding (ie Arrange Audio)
Music Converter added a new Dynamic output to location (to set filename from dynamic items such as artist id tag)f
Right Click >> Edit Tag >> Add Tag working again
Batch convert is unicode compatible

cd - year - if option to strip date from year is on, then is still saving 2004 05 02 as filename in arrangement
bug fix - dmc dynamic naming: [origpath].[extension]\[origfilename] was path\.mp3\filename

Changes

Log filename can be:

[rippedtopath]\[IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[artist][] - [album].txt

Added Vista WMA10 codec

Ripper - c2 now works over usb (even with PX230A, EAC does not)
Ripper - if cannot rip then message includes more details such as frame count and end LBA
Ripper - Time elapsed time now alwyas updates
Ripper - removed drive storage from profiles (changing a profile was changing drive)
Ripper - bug fix was not saving meta data (internally) if eject was clicked
Edit tag can add / remove albmu art.

Bug Fix: The decoder cache would stop a codec working if it was installed to a different location
Big Fix: id3v2 tag writer now correctly seperating multi items with /
Bug Fix: Popup info for missing decoder could crash explorer
Bug Fix: Audio Properties page could crash.
