I am wondering,is there or will there be codeces for Windows media player version 10? I have been trying to convert wav files to wmp files and can't because they are all for version 9. Does anyone have information?

well according to the last post in this thread http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=6128
you only need to install WMA10
but you would still need to instal the dbpoweramp codec. are you getting any error messages wheen converting? -

It is microsoft and there naming again, the beta of WMA 9.1 is the same codec that ships with Windows Media Player 10, so 9.1 = 10Comment

wait, if wmp 10 and wmp 9 have no difference, would it be better if i stuck to wmp 9 and not install wmp 10? or is installing wmp 10 gonna be better than wmp 9? (option 2: WinAMP! Ownz all players ...[except for dAP])Comment

What I understand it that the codec called beta wma 9.1 is the same as the wma codec used in WMP 10. It is not the same as the wma codec used in WMP 9 which is wma 9. The players themselves are not quite the same. For one thing, WMP 10 only works in Windows XP.Comment

I understand that WMP 10 is only for XP HOWEVER, does this make WMP any better? Any efficiencies, less CPU usage....stuff like that? I got it, but i can't see ANY differences (so far).Comment
