    Double dAP Display

Spoon - FYI on Beta 3 Release 6, dAP was installing itself in the System Tray (I may have asked it to do so, I don't recall). I didn't like how it jumped a track when I clicked on it (rather than enlarging to regular display), so I decided to change the options. Once I updated the options, removing the check to put it in the tray, it began showing 2 dAPs on the screen. Everything works fine, but it looks very odd.

Since then I have uninstalled and re-installed a lot of software - older versions that did not do this, etc. The double dAPs remain......

At this point I am about ready to try wiping out all registry entries associated with dbPowerAmp and related products, and start over with a fresh install.

If I see anything unusual with the registry, I'll post again..

    Re: Double dAP Display

Prior to doing the registry clean, I decided I'd better look at the file names under "Illustrate" so I could recognize the entries.

While browsing the folder \Illustrate\dbPoweramp\Skins\Default, I saw that somehow I had gotten two sets of folders, one set with the regular name, and one set with the same names suffixed with " (2)".

Well, removing the set with the suffix (which were older) also removed my concern. Now everything is "back to normal", and I'm back on beta 3 release 4 - at least for tonight.....

seems it reinstalled itself but as I can see you fixed it all by yourself...

btw right-click on the tray icon will set you to main amp (skin part), also I'm not sure you are aware of the tray-player witch appears when you hover over the icon...

        Donny,

You are correct - there is a lot about dbPoweramp that I really don't understand as well as I'd like to.

It seems to me that this is one of the recurring problems with dbPoweramp.
Spoon has created software so rich in capabilities, that it can be tough to keep up with everything that can be done with it.

All software should create that problem, but rarely does.....

One of the great joys of being a software developer is when you receive a request along the line of "Can you make it do....?", and your reply is, "Well, it already does if you look here".

I see that in Spoon's forum more than anywhere else I browse... I hope he feels some of the joy that he has brought to us.....
