Its already a bit dated but:

This test 'shows' that right now Lame 3.96 and the aoTuV ogg vorbis tunings are a lot better than the release versions. Perhaps you can build some codec packs that use these?

Don't worry this will happen soon. It will be so seemless you won't even notice it.

I tend to just update the codecs one a program is ready to come out of beta - if you get the Ogg Vorbis pentium codec (Codec Central) and point the codec to the aoTuV it will work.
