Adding Upstream Images - Asset Beta 7.3

The new feature to enable adding upstream images via web configuration works well.
A few things to be careful of in the .pnp title, Beatles for my set up only works as Beatles, The
The other thing Ive found is it does not handle anything outside basic fonts, e.g. the accent on e in Bublé

Hi Spoon, yes I'd already worked that one out, I was hoping it could be made easier.
No problems thought, at least the Mrs is happy with the Bubl picture.

The adding upstream images feature is a nice to have, thanks.
A question - how does adding images impact CPU & RAM loading ?? are they attached or just linked.
If linked, does this mean the image.png has to be kept on file.

          Hi Mike,
What I have found is that, as you build up the image files for all the 'Album Artists', startup times are affected.

For me, I now have 1,124 images in the UpStreamImages folder, and my RPi2 takes about 15 minutes to process when Asset is restarted.
Once done, there is not impact on performance, as the images are served to the UPnP Controller, i.e. the Naim App, in the same way an UpStream artwork would be.
I haven't finished the project to build this image bank, as yet, somewhere in the later parts of the A-Z.
Hopefully this is easier with this tool in R7.3 Beta

          Simon

            Hi Simon, thanks for feedback.
1124 images !!! eeek !!! I'm only populating a few of the artist & composer folders that contain a lot of those artists albums as viewed in Artist/Album Artist, so I expect it'll be around 50 or so.

When the capability came available in Asset to override the upstream artwork for Album Artist, I was going for a Roon-like display of the Artists in my Library, as I was not using Roon for Playback to the ND5XS/NP5XS (now a NDS/555DR) at that time.
I then switched to Roon being my primary interface, and the Naim app with Asset, becoming the secondary as backup. Hence I have not completed the image bank. Roon tells me there are 3,138 Artists in my Library, so I still have a way to go.

How would "Cécile McLorin Salvant.png" work "c.png"?

                      Thanks for reporting the issue.
Asset R7.3 final has been released, slow startup with lots of user-supplied pictures has been addressed.
