Re: DSD Decoder R3
So when I reinstalled dBpoweramp, the 64-bit installer ran but I had to tell it install into C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp. When I ran "dBpoweramp-Codec-DSD-SACD.exe", the 64-bit installer ran and it was installed properly.
Thanks,
Gary

Re: DSD Decoder R3
It is odd that you have the 64 bit version installed to the 32 bit location, you would be best to uninstall dBpoweramp and any codecs, then reinstall.Leave a comment:

Re: DSD Decoder R3
I simply ran the updater and accepted all of the defaults. Originally I installed R14 (or older) and have probably run updates ever since. The Control Center shows that the 64-bit dBpoweramp is installed:
When I run "dBpoweramp-Codec-DSD-SACD.exe", the Windows 10 UAC prompts me to allow "21C4.tmp-dBpoweramp-Codec-DSD-SACD-32bit.exe" to run. Is the "32bit" a clue?Last edited by GaryWW; April 04, 2017, 06:25 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: DSD Decoder R3
You must have the 32 bit version installed, did you force the 32 bit version of dBpoweramp to install?
To install the 32 bit version of the DSD codec, you hold the right shift key whilst running the installer.Leave a comment:

You must have a miss match of 32 / 64 bit version installed. Where is dBpoweramp installed to? (full path)Leave a comment:

Re: DSD Decoder R3
Does this decoder work with db v16.x and windows 10? I installed it, the dll is in the decoder folder, but it doesn't show up in the Control Center (Audio Codecs) and there are no db options when I right-click a .dsf file.

Re: DSD Decoder R3
Ok, but I think a can convert the DSF 5.1 to 2-channel DoP format?
Thanks,

Re: DSD Decoder R3
Hi,
I have an album of multi-channel DSF files, how do I down mix these from 5.1 to stereo while maintaining them in the DSF format.
Thanks,
Simon.Leave a comment:

Re: DSD Decoder R3
MP3 results were the same as for DSF.
For completeness I also did Flac (which I what I normally use), and the results were different:
Created Tag --> Mapped tag
Source - Source
Style - Style
Label - Label

Nick
PS I'm using latest R16.1 Beta 5Leave a comment:

Re: DSD Decoder R3
I've just started ripping and tagging my SACDs, and noticed a few quirks when tagging DSF files this morning.
When I create some of the tags, they appear to be mapping differently to other file formats, and show up as something else in other programs like MP3Tag and JRMC.
The ones I have noticed so far are:
Created Tag --> Mapped tag
Source - Media Type
Style - ContentGroup
Label - Publisher
If I create the tag in MP3Tag as say 'Source', it shows up as 'Source' in dbPoweramp.
If I create 'Label' in MP3tag after creating it in dbpoweramp first, dbp shows multiple values against 'Label' (so it is treating Label and Publisher as one)
The behaviour doesn't match my experience with flac, so suspect something is wrong somewhere
Happy to test further as required
