    Which is when?

Just at present, I am unable to stream DSD files through Asset R4 on the RPi, and need to have Asset R5.1 on my Windows laptop just for these files, which is wireless and not the best at streaming the larger dsf files.

    Thanks,
    Simon.

Any update on Asset R5 for the Raspberry Pi platform (ideally with optimisation for the RPi 2)?

    Re: Asset R5 Discussions

One question: How do I setup Asset (or Windows 10) that it starts automatically when a non-admin user starts the computer?
My wife has a non-admin user account but Asset does not start automatically at startup and even if I start the Asset configuration (which needs an admin pw) the service does not seem to start.
    Using Asset 5.1.

    Hi Spoon,
Do these images in the Asset folder need to be jpg or can they be png, so the background be can transparent against the app background.

I am looking to have some icons designed, in the style of the Naim logo, so white on black with a reasonably fine stroke.
So just looking to given the Graphic Designer the details.

    Thanks,
    Simon

    Re: Asset UPnP R5

I've now got a cheap and cheerful 'prototype' DSD music player working; it plays back DSD files extremely well without the use of a conventional DAC. The results are very positive and I'm now starting to work on a tube based audiophile version. The only downside is that I have to load the DSD files locally instead of picking them up from my QNAP NAS - just a little hint

I know you're working on Asset 5 for Linux, which will cover my QNAP. Just wondering about progress?

    Cheers

This happens with original wav too. MP3 vbr and flac are the only formats allowing pause.
I tried with minimserver, and it behaves the same, so it might not be an asset issue.
I then tried feeding directly my N50 with asset (so bypassing bubble server), and I can pause all file types, problem might be bubble server then. If anyone with enough posts count could report this on the xda-developers bubble topic it would be really nice

Try setting those formats to 'as wave' so Asset transcodes to a format that the player is better able to work with.

    Re: Asset UPnP R5

I don't know if it's an Asset issue or a bubble upnp server one...

When playing MP3 VBR (kazoo as control point, but kinsky behaves the same), I get the track duration, and the progression bar moves forward, and music can be paused (instead of stopped).
When playing MP3 CBR or WAV, no track duration, no progression bar, and music can only be stopped, not paused.

Everything set "as is" in asset transcoding (and disabled in bubble).

It's not a new behavior, it worked that way since version 4.3, just wondering...
