    Re: Asset R5 Discussions

As part of the Naim Beta program - release has been available still the end of February and has been testing well.
I hope that Naim are going to make it available soon.

    Thanks,
    Simon.

I want the DSD support for the RPi platform, so I can replace the converted SACD files with the non-converted DSF files, now I have native DSD playback in my Naim ND5 with their Beta firmware.

Or could I get the DSD support for the R4.2 release I am currently using. I didn't move to 4.4 or 4.5 as this release wasn't giving me the Album Artwork for Compilations, I now have individual album artwork for each track in a Compilation Album. I believe you are taking a different approach in R5.

    Thanks,
    Simon.
How did you managed to get the beta for the naim nd5xs.
    I want it too.
    Regards
    Mike

Asset V5 for my QNAP TS-231 NAS gets my vote; I'll have native DSD capability on my DAC as soon as the new interface card arrives from down under.

    Cheers

    Images, good idea.

We are not currently working on Asset, so will be a little while (working dbp, PerfectTUNES and foobar mobile).

One other thing while am I thinking about it - Could we have images for the Folders before you get to Album/Artist, Album, Title etc. where the Upstream Artwork provides Artwork in the Tree structure.

I am thinking about the type of icons that iTunes uses in the left corner menu, to switch between Albums, Songs, Composer, Genre Click image for larger version

Name:	Untitled.jpg
Views:	1
Size:	8.2 KB
ID:	292909

This would just bring Asset up a level - I believe the UPnP protocol allows for this.

    Thanks,
    Simon.

    Hi

    This is for FLAC files.

Appreciate you follow standards, but this is a difference between versions, PI version 4.4 presents these albums but Windows Beta 5 8 doesn't with the same browse tree settings (Album Artist > Album) so it's not consistence between versions.

We follow codec tagging standards, which audio format is 'AlbumArtist' being used for?

    Re: Asset R5 Discussions

I've installed Windows Beta Release 5 Beta 8. I also have the Raspberry PI version running in R4.4.

I prefer to browse by Album Artist so I have setup a tree based on Album Artist > Album

I'm finding that the Windows Beta doesn't seem to list Albums where there is not a value in the Album Artist field but the AlbumArtist tag does have the value. I came across this when comparing tags, dbPoweramp tag editor shows no Album Artist set whereas Media Monkey does.

Comparing the count of Tracks and albums discovered by Asset, the PI version is discovering many more albums but the number of tracks reconciles (all but 2)

My understanding is that Asset should treat these as the same, which appears to be the case with version R4.4 which is finding the correct number of albums when pointing at the same library, i.e it treats them as the same.

Is this a bug or do I need to configure/tag differently to before?

    Thank you

    Richard

If you install R5 beta over R4 WHS (without uninstalling) it will work on WHS also.

I have a registered version of Asset r4.4 for my Qnap Hs 251, I am interested by the R5 version but three questions:
1- how can i keep my configuration?
2- i suppose it is a trial version for 30 days?
3- Now i can go Back to a registered version?

    Thank's for your help

It was indeed related to folder browsing. Thanks for the report, the bug has been fixed for the next version.
