As a result of an oversight on our side, .fla extension isn't currently recognized. This will be fixed in the next update.
I am also unable to see FLAC files and my FLAC files have a .flac extension.

When I click on the 'Filter' button, I do not see FLAC as one of the available Audio Types.

It seems that in my installation (and in the installations of others) the FLAC codec isn't getting loaded.
    .
    Hope this helps

      Same situation here.

Actually, I just looked through a folder with MP3s, and it found nothing there, either.

Also, my folder names are not in alphabetical order. They seem to be sorted by modification date? Not sure how to re-sort. I'm fairly familiar with Batch Converter, as I've used the paid Windows version for years.

            Spoon,

I have a similar, related problem but when attempting to do the opposite. My objective is to convert ALAC files to FLACs. Basically nothing happens and I get the following error message...

            Error converting to FLAC, '/Volumes/FW800-1/iTunes Music/AC_DC/Black Ice/01 Rock 'N Roll Train.m4a' to '/tmp/no-output-file-specified.ignore'
Error: Unable to load encoder 'FLAC'. [dBCoreConverter]

I also noticed that FLAC was missing from the formats filters screen. I'm using OSX 10.9.3 Mavericks.

Just tried R1 and ran cd ripper. It says my drive isn't in accuraterip but it is. My drive I'm using is Optiarc - DVD RW AD-7280S. Haven't did anymore tests, will report back when I do.

What is your drive reported as in CD Ripper (as best you can see, with spaces).

Downloaded and installed no problem. The music converter now does indeed recognize my .FLAC files. I did a test convert of one album (7 songs), and upon hitting Convert, the program is frozen/stuck with a "One moment please" error. I am using 10.9.4.

This is copy pasted from within Cd Ripper under options > CD ROm > Drive > Optiarc - DVD RW AD-7280S
