I called QNAP and they confirmed that the TS-269L is running on a 64-bit processor. If you can provide a corrected 64-bit build of Asset, I will give it a shot and report back.

Is your QNAP NAS running 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) Linux? I've looked at their product sheet but they're rather vague about the exact Linux version that they use.

The 32-bit build of Asset has been made free of the problematic GLIBCXX dependency (as far as I am aware of) but the 64-bit one still has it. If your NAS is 64-bit, we will provide a corrected 64-bit build of Asset for you.

I, too, have encountered the same problem as roburx69 in the above post on my new QNAP TS-269L. Is there a different link to the most recent build of Asset?

Thanks for making a QNAP NAS version of Asset available.

I tried to follow your instructions to install the x86 version on my QNAP TS-269L.(Intel Atom- Dual core) It installs but when I try to run Asset I get errors:

    [/usr/bin/asset/bin] * ./AssetUPnP
    ./AssetUPnP: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.15' not found (required by ./AssetUPnP)
    ./AssetUPnP: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.9' not found (required by ./AssetUPnP)
    ./AssetUPnP: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.7' not found (required by ./AssetUPnP)

I take it I have some missing Libraries. Any thoughts on this?

    Thanks in advance..
GREAT to read that there would be some possibility to run the Asset on Linux/QNAP's.

Because I just received my new QNAP TS-870, I tried today the procedure, I do not get the first line but i do still get last two ones.
    My QNAP software is 4.0.5.

    Hello spoon

Nice to read that the lib dependencies were solved, but I could not find the install files. The links mentioned above still oint to the October version. Please provide a download link.

    Thx

    Update 3rd December

    Fixes folder.jpg issue
Removes lib dependencies, should now work on a QNAP (intel CPU).

Note the new install filenames in the download.

I am also seeing the message... ./AssetUPnP: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.15' not found (required by ./AssetUPnP)

Waiting here with bated breath.... I am interested in getting Asset for Linux version running on my unRAID server if I can.

I would not try until we are able to fix the dependency, then it would be a matter of logging into the NAS through SSH to install with the commands listed in the first message.

Would this work on a Synology 1813+ ? I believe it has a dual core Intel processor. I'm not sure if it is possible to install in the same way as with a QNap. I have installed Minimserver, but that came as an install package that was easily installed manually via the package centre. I'd really like to run Asset on it if possible! I recently changed to the Synology from a Tranquil WHS

    Re: Asset UPnP for Linux

I have successfully installed and set up "Asset for linux" on a vortexbox (fedora 16). When using AssetUPnP on my Windows Server 2011-based AssetNAS premiun v2, I could add inter alia new tags etc. Where do I find the corresponding files in the linux version ?
    Thanks adca1
