nothing i did would help. i uninstalled dap and dmc and reinstalled everything to make sure that was alright. then installed the latest monkey and got the disk full error straight away after trying to rip. this happens on any pre setting.
i uninstall and reinstall the previous monkey and he is swinging fine :DComment

Hi Razgo, I just ripped and encoded 2 Miles Davis cd's using the new Monkey's 3.98, and had no problems. I did Kind of Blue at the normal setting and it compressed to 1.5 to 1.9 in about 3 minutes My ripping speed ave.x30. I also M.D. In a Silent Way, only 2 songs on cd about 38 minutes total, using xtra high, to rip and convert took about the same amount of time as the normal. Compression was 2 .1 and 3.1 . Then tryed Insane to rip and encode took about 5.30minutes with a compression of 2.1 and 3.1, same as xtra high. File info did not show this compression level. Sound quality was excellent except for Insane, it sounded rough on the edges and lacked transparency. I'm going to avoid this setting for now.Comment

If I try to encode, I get the message "Unable to write to <filename>, disk full?", and on decoding or transcoding to other formats, musicconverter.exe is closed because of an illegal operation.
I uninstalled the old codec before installing this one.Comment

Re: >> Beta: Monkeys Audio R7 Beta 1
i had a look at their forums and someone else said it doesn't work on win98 also. so i might have to weait until the new alpha is beta or released or their latest 3.98 bug for win98 is fixed. after reading the thread it is my opinion so far their must be some sort of bug with the latest release and win98, but nothing to do with dmc being at fault.
and so far no one here has come forward saying it does work with win98 yet.

Since yesterday evening i had so much troubles with dB
I did a massive rip in APE SecureRip with MC.
And impossible to convert , to play.
All my memory gone when clicking on one song in Explorer.
Also the 0 size and mb.
But they played in FootBar and TheGrandFather.
Rip from dB worked fine.
Anyway ,uninstalled db , MC ect ect...
Until i found this post.
Look like MC use allready the new built ,who is not read by the one before, who is in the download page.
Now with the beta installed in dB , all back to normal.
But ,hours and hours spent on it.Last edited by zevele1; December 17, 2003, 08:36 PM.Comment
