very nice. Will this allow the user to choose whether to use the ALBUM or TRACK RG value to transfer to iTunNORM field?

Currently it is just the track rg value, we could perhaps expand on that, but for now want to see how people get on with track gain.

Have tested the new option for calculation replaygain values using ebur128 and I think it gives wrong results since albumgain is much lower than the individual tracks.

with an existing music collection, what is the best way to just write tags for iTunesNorm & ReplayGain (via calc EBUR128) without re-encoding the files? I normally use the ReplayGain Utility Codec to just write the RG tags.

It is not possible at the moment until that utility codec is updated also, it will happen when these changes are found to be issue free.

Just to clarify. If I update to the latest DSP R9 version and take an existing set of FLAC files (Album X) will I be able to replace the current track replay gain tag values as well as the album gain tag with the one calculated by ebur128 using "Batch converter" or "Music converter"
or
do I have to rerip the entire CD to do this?

If your tracks are lossless, you can convert FLAC >> FLAC with the effect.
