    The tag would have to be written internally as:

    GENRE=genre1
    GENRE=genre2

    for it to be picked up as separate, as per the Vorbis Comments specification

    Yep in a flac file, MP3Tag states FLAC as opposed to id3v2.
    Does that on all the files, it was working fine on twonk when it was the <,> komma delimiter but having switched to server 2008 mainly to use asset I changed the delimiter to <;> (semicolon) but no joy... Running on Asset beta. 3

    BTW friendly name for asset is not picked up. In stead I get the server name running on Server 2008 R2 Foundation as my domain server

    There are no <> around the tags it was just to delineate the tag content itself.

    Any clue as to why it is not picking them up as separate tags?

    The tagging program has written the tags wrong there should never be < > around tags.

    I'm having problems with the genre tag.
    It's just one genre tag which reads <Pop; Jazz>
    In the genre however I see <Pop; Jazz> instead of the expected Pop and Jazz separate categories.
    It was my understanding this should work?

    If there is a alternative method please enlighten me, maybe a script to populate multiple genre tags?

    Thanks

    Hi Spoon - might this also be the same reason you don't get album art on the Oppo when transcoding from FLAC to LPCM - damn shame the Oppo doesn't natively support FLAC of course.

    It is not possible to list as you have requested.

    I have been testing today and I think this release is doing very well.

    Most of the things that annoyed me a bit - like losing a connection at the media player when the database updated for a new album ripped - have been improved.

    One question. Is it hard to create other dynamic playlists? I am thinking of one which lists everything ordered by artist(alphabetical),Album (sort by release date) and then disk-track*blooper*.

    @Michael Sargent I will test this.

    I am trying to use Asset v3 with an Oppo BDP-83. I am running the latest Oppo Beta firmware from August 24, 2010.

    Once playback begins, do you have any idea why the Title, Artist, Album, and Genre show up as small rectangles (as if the character set is invalid) when playing MP3 files and simply as blank lines when playing another format (FLAC -> LPCM for example)?

    The information displays correctly when navigating the folders served by Asset. The music sounds great as well.

    Thanks,

    Robert

    Are there any settings in the Advanced dialog that may be affecting this?
    Any further thoughts on this, Spoon? I really like the idea of multi-disc albums being shown as a single entry, but the tracks really need to be sorted correctly.

    P.S. Upgraded to R14 this morning. Sweet! Nice job. Thanks.

    Has anyone tried to use Asset in a setup with a Linksys E2100L or E3000 router? I like that these routers allow attached USB drives, but I don't want to use the embedded uPnP server these routers have.

    thanks!
