pity  I thought, I could stream to my HiFi unaltered via Asset and use the "rerouting" through Air uPnP to get replay-gained material in noisier surroundings....
      No chance, really?????

Right now there is no UPnP standard for sending over the replaygain tags, we will create a standard shortly, but for now if you use Asset to Wave with replaygain done iin Asset.

          Hello,

this seems very interesting, but I am not sure I understand how it works: Airport Express only accepts Apple Lossless, 44.1 kHz, 16 bits files. So if I have flac, ogg or mp3 where is the transcoding done: Asset, player or is Air capable of transcoding ? Thanks.

It is done on the pc on which the airupnp software runs from.

Does it use its own decoders or does it require dBpoweramp to be installed ?

Spoon - first I'm thrilled to see someone developing another method to use the AE besides iTunes! Keep up the great work!!!

I'm having a bit of trouble getting this to work reliably. I'm using PlugPlayer on an iPhone and it will find the AE fine. When it goes to play it looks like it will start but there is no progress nor sound. I managed to get it to work once, but have been unable to replicate. Any thoughts? Or perhaps updates?

It can be a little flakey on my testing, but have not had a chance to look into it.

Spoon - thanks for the quick response!

Are there plans to integrate this with other products? It's own product? Or was this something that was done as proof of concept and nothing more?

The potential to use the AE as a UPNP device is very exciting for me. I have one, but could easily imagine using multiple for a whole house audio solution (like Sonos) on a shoestring budget.

It is quite geeky it will be looked at as I want to run a few AE also around my home, but right now priority is on Renaissance and Asset Control, once Renaissance settles down then work can be done on AE (as it relies on Renaissance).

                            Hi,
has anyone tested multiple AE streamed by Air UPnP.

As I understand the technology, there was one PC running Air UPnP and could stream to many Apple AE. Control Point could be Kinsky or Plugplayer.
Is it poosible to send different music streams to each AE and alternativly the same music synchron to all AE, so that I con hear this all over the house.
I think this feature wasn't possible in Renaissance (in combination with KinskyDesktop).

Hi, my question for multi room synch streaming was answered by Spoon in another thread (http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthre...oper*post97474). This feature is missing in the UPnP protocol.

                                Hi Spoon,

today I bought an Airport Express. Configuration was easy and it works fine. I named the AE "livingroom". At Kinsky I found two different rooms. One "livingroom" and another "livingroom:airport express". Both can be allocated different playlists and could play them. Is there a possibilty to reduce it to one public name?

How many AE can be controlled by the service from one computer?

                                Ralf
