Specific support for Monkey's Audio 4.06 is unnecessary since there have been no changes to the format since 3.99, just to the Monkey's Audio software. I had asked a similar question a few months ago when Monkey's Audio 4.06 had recently been released for which a similar answer was provided. Not entirely convinced, I performed some testing of my own and discovered that the version tag in files encoded with Monkey's Audio 4.06 contains '3.99'.
