    Accurate Rip Test #1

This is the first public appearance of AccurateRip, dBpowerAMP Music Converters new feature to make rips more accurate. For an explination on how it works, visit here:

The time has come to spill the beans on AccurateRip: Starting with dBpowerAMP Music Conveter Release 10, AccurateRip will be included - this is a clever database of all CDs in existance. Hopefully the database will populate quickly after initial launch - the database is designed for about 1 Million CD discs. Initially

Needless to say it is a large database system, but only the database is not too large at the moment, that is where you lot come in One word to note, the system will not activate until it has been configured and it will not configure unless you have one of the disks listed below.

    First install these two installs:

    dMC Release 10 Beta 3:

    1.59 MB

    AccurateRip dB:

    234 KB

    =================
    Instructions

** Important, please do not use Queen Made in heaven to find the offset - this disc has corrupt results **

Insert a disc that is listed below whilst Audio CD Input is running, it should recognise the disc and offer to configure AccurateRip (if not bear in mind that many of the discs listed below have different pressings, for different countries). If after finding the offsets it reports your drive does not support accurate streaming then you are not able to take part (yet).

Have the drive configured? make a note of the Smaple Offset (also shown on the Options page) and visit:

and see if it got it right. Next with that recognising disc still in the drive, select the Rip Menu >> Rip to >> Test Conversion (No Write) and rip the CD, make a note of the results. For this first disc I would like to know what the disc was, if your drive offset matches those on that page, and if it said it was accurately ripped.

After that you can help populate the AccurateRip database (possibly by re-ripping your entire collection!), give each disc a light clean before ripping, if you have two drives you can rip on one drive then 'Test Conversion' on the other drive to see which rips are Accurate.

Supply your rip results by emailling the file:

    C:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpowerAMP\AccurateRip\
    AccurateRipUpload.bin

    to dbpoweramp@dbpoweramp.com

be sure to DELETE this file after emailling.

Take no offence, just a healthy question

Good question, I publically state that AccurateRip will never be sold off, or charged for. It might even make it onto other Rippers (totally free and open), but that is a little too early just yet.

Hmmm, well I'd love to help but whenever I rip a disc the upload.bin is not there? it just lists the numbered/lettered .bin's ?
Apart from that things went very well

hmm, i was going to give this a go at work, and wouldnt you believe it, there has to be like 200,000 cds here, and none of them match the cds you have listed.

altho granted 99% of the discs here have recordings from the 40s
