Trouble converting Apple Lossless file

Using the most current R13 Reference version and version 8 of the mp4 codecs. Tried converting an Apple lossless file to Nero AAC and I get the following error:

Information converting to m4a Nero (AAC), 'C:\zTemp\test_1425 1.m4a' to 'E:\zTemp\test_1425 1.m4a'
   (trak) unknown chunk id: tref
  [ALACDEC::Open]

The file opens and plays fine in Quicktime.

Any suggestions/ideas what I might be doing wrong?
