One of the last codecs to be ported from R11.5 to R12, hopefully this newer version is better at its job, that is tagging from a filename, download:

Re: [Tag From Filename] Ultilty codec
Not spam, Brendan. Humor.
Spoon, I just tagged several hundred albums in less than 10 minutes. Aside from a few tag elements changing name (for the better) this version appears to work as well or better than the previous version.
One suggestion. Would it be possible to retain the last five or so "Tag Recognition" masks that have been entered and change the "Tag Recognition" edit control to an editable drop down? This way the user could select one of the most recenly used masks or enter a new mask from scratch.

Re: [Tag From Filename] Ultilty codec
Hello. I just used the " Tag From Filename " codec and I found it very very useful, but I would like to ask something. I have a track named e.g. " 05 - Temptation " and I want to name the tag from the filename. I put " [track] - [title] ", but it adds in the " track number " place " 5 " instead of " 05 " . Why does this happen? Could you please tell me what I should write instead of " [track] - [title] "? Thank you.Comment

Which audio file format? Generally speaking track number should never be ' x'Comment

Re: [Tag From Filename] Ultilty codec
05 - Temptation.mp3. If I put it manually(right click> edit tag> track number 05> ok), it saves it as "05", but with the "tag from filename" conversion and with the way I described in my previous thread, it saves it only as "5". The same problem existed with dbpoweramb version 10.5. The problem is that if I have the tracks in the album folder named 1, 2, 3, ..., 10, 11 e.t.c., my mp3 player plays the 10-19 tracks first and then the 1-9Comment
