So, when you say "disable mapping of vorbis comments", what exactly do you mean? Is that to disallow conversion from ID3 tags in, lets say, an MP3 to Vorbis comments in a supporting format? If you convert from a non-Vorbis format, does it convert and just transfer no tag information? Why would anyone want that? Also, if your source is a commented FLAC file, and you're converting to Ogg, will it copy the comments regardless of how you have the option selected?

Shouldn't there just be a universal "copy tags to new file" option? I thought there used to be. Am I just totally missing the point?

Every other format stores Comment as Comment. The recommendation for vorbis is that is stored as description. Disabling it will store as comment in vorbis comments.

So, the mapping applies only to the naming of that comment-element (tag field) within the comments, not whether or not the contents are transferred. I think I've got it. It doesn't sound like the kind of feature that a lot of people will care about, but I'm always happy to have more features.

Incidentally, most of the Vorbis files I have a "Comment" comment and not a "Description" comment, so it would seem that the standard is not always adhered to.

                          Thanks again !

I have a question about ogg format :

Why I've not album art in my ogg files encoded with ogg vorbis r18 and dbpower r 12.2 ?

There currently exists no standard for ogg vorbis and album art...
