Why I've not album art in my ogg files encoded with ogg vorbis r18 and dbpower r 12.2 ?

Commonly, you'll find a "folder.jpg" file, but it's not embedded the way it can be with MP3 and WMA.

Found another Mapping Issue,

BPM is converted to tempo if I convert from ape to flac, but stays tempo if I go from flac to ape.
Please make it possible to disable BPM mapping also.

Yes, the codec based on FLAC 1.2.0 is still in beta.

This version also cuts about 0.08 seconds when you convert from flac to another format.

I post my little research here to.

I tried to get a 1s wav file to flac (2 versions, 1.1.4.0 and 1.2.0.0 beta) and back again as close to 1s as possible.

1s wav to flac = 1sec (OK)
that flac back to wav = 0.940s (loss of data!)

1s wav to mp3 (lame) = 1s (OK)
that mp3 back to wav = 0.993s (mp3 is lossy so this is ok?)
that mp3 to flac = 0.992s (mp3 is lossy so this is ok?)
that flac back to wav = 0.940s (loss of lenght!)

1s wav to wma (lossless) = 0.998s (Any type of length compression?)
that wma (lossless) back to wav = 1s (OK)
that wma (lossless) to flac = 1s (OK)
that flac back to wav = 0.940s (loss of data!)

Why is it not possible to get the flac to 1s wav file again?

I found the problem. I converted on my desktop that is running Vista Ultimate x64. Now i did the same as above converted wav to flac and back to wav again on my laptop running windows xp. The wav to flac conversion was done on my desktop computer and the flac to wav on both.

Original file (Wave) that was converted to flac on the desktop computer running vista ultimate x64, the file was ripped from a cd using Windows Media Player 11:
24 696 274 bytes.
2 minutes and 20 seconds.

Desktop result (Flac to Wave) Vista Ultimate x64 (Core 2 Duo E6300, Conroe):
24 551 468 bytes. (Loss of audio data) :thumbdown
2 minutes and 19 seconds. :thumbdown

Laptop result (Flac to Wave) Windows XP (Pentium M 1,7Ghz, Dothan):
24 696 044 bytes. (All audio data is the same as the original as i can see but fewer bytes then the original (more optimized header?)
2 minutes and 20 seconds.

Latest beta codec was used and latest version of dbpoweramp and all windows updates.

I was unable to reproduce. It should make no difference if Vista x64 or XP is used, the code base is still 32 bit.

Try this, take the original wave >> Convert to FLAC and switch on the verify option, if the flac file is missing something then it would show in the verify. Also check no dsp effects are being used, either when flac or wave compressor is selected.

Why exactly is the codec for FLAC R10 still in beta ? It's been a while now... It's a pity that I have to keep using R9 (thus FLAC 1.1.4) just because R10 is still a "beta" release. FLAC 1.2.0 is a major release, so I logically thought that the official R10 would have come sooner...

R10 is for the FLAC release, not Music Converter, this codec works only with R12 of music converter.

I think your misunderstanding the point of Jose's post, Spoon. It sounds like he is using r12 of dMC, but r9 of the FLAC codec, which uses FLAC 1.1.4, and he is wondering when the r10 FLAC codec will be out of beta.

We like to test codecs for a month or two, if you think it should be released faster, download the beta, because it is the same thing (the code will not change).
