(So sorry for my broken english :D )
OS: winxpsp2 english version (Language for non-Unicode programs: Chinese (PRC) )
I tried dBpoweramp Reference R12.1 Trial ,and found 3 bugs or problems.
and then, I install dmc12.2beta, seem that they have the same problems in mp3 & wAVE tags.
(1) MP2 Codec lack of 224kbps Bitrate selection
that has been used in VCD , and most of the SVCD.
Audio
Codec: MPEG-1 Audio Layer II
Frequency: 44,100 hertz (44.1 kHz)
Output: Dual channel or stereo
Bitrate: 224 kilobits per second
Rate Control: Constant bitrate
The MP2 codec is expected to have following selections.
MPEG Layer II characteristics
MPEG-1 Layer II is defined in ISO/IEC 11172-3
Sampling rates: 32, 44.1 and 48 kHz
Bitrates: 32, 48, 56, 64, 80, 96, 112, 128, 160, 192, 224, 256, 320 and 384 kbit/s
Format
The format is based on successive digital frames of 1152 sampling intervals with four possible formats:
mono format
stereo format
joint stereo format (stereo irrelevance)
dual channel (uncorrelated) format
------------------------------------------------------------
(2) WAVE LIST (tag of wave file) is NOT support chinese words correctly,
all tags with or include chinese words is truncated.
p/s: Actually this problem would not affect me,
because I'm not intend to added any TAG to my WAVE files, and just
simply disable the WAVE LIST in the configuration.
------------------------------------------------------------
(3) Edit Tag (in Windows Explorer, Select the file and right click )
function MAY cause mp3 TAGs conflict.
example:
Source: file1.mp3 //MP3 with (id3v1 + id3v2 (ansi) )
configuration fo dmc ==> ID3v2 write: Unicode16
Now, if we modify some of the tags in file1.mp3 using Edit Tag function,
only the tag(s) we modified become Unicode16.
other tags( without modify) in file1.mp3 is still remain in ANSI characters.
So, the tags has been conflicted...
