Dalet is a popular Radio Automation system used worldwide. In the early days (in version 4.3), Dalet only supported their own audio format (.snd). These days (in version 5.1 and DaletPlus) other formats are also supported, but many broadcasters still have a back catalogue of audio files and systems which still use the older format.
The Dalet format is based on MP2 encoding, with some extra peak volume data for display purposes. Some other decoders and players will incorrectly handle Dalet files as MP2 files, watch out for the clicks and jumps every 12 seconds as the decoder hits the peak volume data.... This codec handles the Dalet format correctly.
