    Spoon,

How does TTA compare and contrast with FLAC?

    Thanks,

    Paul

I assume you mean compare and contrast in regards to filesizes, compression and decoding times, as both codecs are lossless. Here is a comparison that might be somewhat outdated: http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index....ess_comparison

acctualy lossless is not truely lossless in my exp, you can loose some detail, flac for example i can hear the loss of low tones, it flattens them a bit, and im not the only one whos heard this effect Example
its good stuff compared to MP3, but its far from flawless.

i will take a look at TTA and see what i think, i know OptimFROG gave me better results as did monky, all are far better then the most common format(i hate mp3)

Lossless is lossless, take a wave file convert it to TTA, or any other lossless codec. Then select the wave file and lossless file together and Convert To >> [Calculate CRC] (install dBpoweramp Reference to get that option), then an MD5 is run on the uncompressed audio, the result will be identical, meaning the files are identical.

Updated 20th May: bug fix: high frequency audio files might not be read / written with correct frequency.
