Something wrong here, my Plextor SCSI drive won't find a Key Disc

    Hi Spoon & company,

First off let me thank you for the development of your program (dBpowerAMP). I have downloaded and tried both the current stable and now the new beta release for testing as well - definitely on the right track, lookin good. Although I am having problems recognizing Key Discs with both versions on my Plextor SCSI drive (UltraPlex 40max - PX-40TS). My NEC drive will configure fine with ZZtop - Greatest Hits, from the KeyDisc database along with over 50 other discs, but the Plextor will recognize the disc as one that is in the database, but I keep getting the message 'This Key Disc cannot be used for offset detection (it does not match the one stored in AccurateRips database), please try a different Key Disc.' I know this disc works and so does the Plextor drive because it configures fine from within EAC using the AccurateRip.dll. Any ideas as to how I can get it to work correctly with either current version of Accurate Cd Ripper. I have also tried all 4 methods of communication available, no luck

    Thanks for any help,
    Dave

Mine, is no longer there, is there a way to create a new one, I deleted it the other day, thinking it would re-create a new one. On my pc, it was located in C:\Audio\dbPowerAMPbeta install folder, not under my documents and settings.
I have tried uninstalling & re-installing the program to no avail in getting a new AccurateRip-Offset-log.txt file.

First, try hitting the "Reset" button in the AccurateRip section of the Options. If that doesn't work, try the total uninstall mentioned here: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?t=6828

Ok, I have tried everything mentioned & still no luck. The only thing 12BETA writes to log is the success found with my NEC drive, no mention of the failures with my Plextor external SCSI drive. Any other ideas? here is the log that does print out:

Congratulations, AccurateRip has been set up correctly. It is recommended that this disc is ripped to test the accuracy of your drive. Calculated offset value: +48 samples, +192 bytes.

Try ripping a track on the plextor, I think R12 does not support it as it requires an old read command.

I'm having the same problem on a MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-850 in a lenovo notebook. I've successfully ripped one of the discs AccurateRip didn't accept though, here's the complete extraction log:

I inserted a disc that was recognized: Apocalyptica - Plays Metallica by Four Cellos. Got the "This disc can be used to configure AccurateRip" message, clicked on Configure, waited a few seconds and got the following error:

"This Key Disc cannot be used for offset detection (it does not match the one stored in AccurateRips database), please try a different Key Disc." Same error as onthejazz's.

Happened with several other discs as well (Queen - A Night at the Opera, Pink Floyd - The Wall, to name some I've successfully used in the past, though on another machine).

So, no, I guess it hasn't been configured. Need anything more? Shoot.

You're right, I apologize for causing unnecessary work. I didn't think it was possible to have two dozen CDs that are recognized but cannot be used to configure AR.

Again, apologies, and thanks for the help.

There is a huge range of different pressings, so if you are lucky it is 1 cd, unlucky then 30.

Is it correct that R12 does not support Plextor PX-40TS? This is one of the best devices for CD Audio ripping ever made. In addition, Exact Audio Copy is able to use it. So why not R12?

I have a Plextor PX-40TS setup, and just bought R12 Reference. Could have saved the money, though, because of ripping problems. Hope you'll be able to incorporate support for PX-40TS...

By the way: EAC autodetects the read command for PX-40TS as 'D8'.
