    dBpowerAMP CD Writer Beta 2

Now about 65% complete, it will free beta over a 2 month period, after which hopefully I will have reached 100% complete, it will then switch to shareware, costing a very nominal sum.

** Before installing make sure you have the latest beta of dBpowerAMP Music Converter (also in this beta section), then install the CD Writer:

** Previous users of Beta 1 - right click Audio File >> Convert To >> Audio CD click 'New' select each disc - delete the files then delete the discs (it will auto create 2 more), then install beta and DO the same again.

    711KB

After installtion an icon for the CD writer is created in Start >> Programs >> dBpowerAMP Music Converter >> dBpowerAMP CD Writer, but that is not how you choose files for the CD yet (it will do later as one of many ways to create an audio cd), to create an audio CD, right click on a bunch of mp3/wma/wave/whatever files that dMC can handle >> Convert To >> Audio CD

Mp3 / WMA cd writing is now handled, there are a few bugs that need sorting out as shown below.

I plan to also add a CD Label Writer.

Let me know how you get on, views, whatever else...

    ======================
    To Do

BUG: create 1 mp3 audio cd - add 4 tracks, next create an audio CD - and press the delete tracks item - it will delete the mp3 CD!!
BUG: mp3cd not setting the label name!!
BUG: not setting iso1 or non joliet
BUG: mp3CD on re-insert a mp3 CD windows xp freezes 30 seconds and gives 4 seconds of movement (hibernate and restore fixes problem)
BUG: stops system stuff whilst writing

for mp3s - an option to 1) copy as is (if mp3), or copy as is if bitrate < required ?? how can get bitrate

on CD used page - have an option to import used space (only mp3 CDs)

when writng a mp3 audio cd - set the CD color to blue!!

REMOVE beta only work for 2 months - add a new power pack type reg

audio cd writer cdgrab - when select music say how many are selected

Label: When write a CD store off the last 10 written CDs (artist track names)
label: do a label writer - both case and disc

add professional freq conversion - to wave write

So can preview tracks in dAP

have a move to Storage, move from sotrage, so if 1 track goes over it cna be stored

so can drag drop onto CD writer - also have Svetaexp type drive view

make dMC detect if CD writer is installed,

well this all just way too cool

what i want to know is when I add my ogg tracks and click convert. this part baffles me a bit.

is it re converting the same ogg file? if so , why make it reconvert the same file.

actually there are a few things that i will have to sit down and work out.

I noticed also converting a mp3 to ogg 128 would show ogg 124 in the cd writer.

This is writing a Ogg CD? That is an option I have yet to add.

oh, for my first question I think that is in your list above

"for mp3s - an option to 1) copy as is (if mp3), or copy as is if bitrate < required ?? how can get bitrate"

so i guess for now it has to convert to see all the settings of the mp3.

I also noticed it closes the cd after it is written even when i don't tick the "close cd" option.

Are you sure? write some files to an Ogg CD (BTW what plays that?) make sure close is not checked.

Later write some more - it will ask to insert a disk, there is a button to import the old disc and continue writing.

seeing that you also plan to do a cd label writer, would you also consider a music origaniser like http://www.synapsa.com/

that way we could email cd catalogue list creations details between friends or whatever.
