    Monkeys

I have a serious problem, I downloaded about 14 giga worth of frank zappa music, without knowing they are all .ape.
The problem is when I rip them they become one long mp3.
    Anyone can help me?

But you have them "ripped" already, since you have them in ape format on your computer. Are you trying to BURN some CDs?

In general, please provide more detailed information on what you are doing, step by step, and what software you were using.

I am assuming you downloaded one or more sizeable .ape files which you converted to mp3 only to find that the resulting mp3 files each contained multiple tracks (perhaps entire cd's worth) ripped as single files.

I am assuming your actual problem is that you would like to split these large, multi-track mp3 files into single track files. dMC can do this, at least in theory, but it isn't easy and it isn't pretty and it requires the Power Pack. You need to make copies of each mega-file, mark the timings for each track within the large file and use the trim command to trim your copies into single tracks one at a time.

A somewhat easier (and certainly more precise) approach is to use a wave editor such as Audacity (www.audacity.com) to make a copy of each mega-file and split each mega-file into separate tracks. The advantage here is that you will have better control over the start and stop for each track.

We have also had users recommend a program called Mp3 Splitter (I believe) that is designed to help with the same process.

If I have misunderstood your problem, or if you need further details about any of the above, feel free to follow-up to clarify what you are trying to do, what problem(s) you are running into and what you have tried (as dbamble has suggested).

      Best wishes,
      Bill
