I do have a RealPlayer and i can play it on my computer, but i cant put the song into my mp3 player. the decoder only recognises files that can be opened in WMP, so i cant convert the file. so, how do i change the file type into a wma, or something that my mp3 player can read?

Re: turn real media file into wma
A few suggestions:
1. Try recording the file (to wave) off of your soundcard as you play it through RealAudio, directions are here:
dMC Auxiliary Input is used to record audio to your hard drive from what is being played through your soundcard. Applications include transferring cassettes or vinyl to your pc for further processing and perhaps for burning to audio cd, capturing streaming audio which cannot be downloaded and converting the audio from
2. Which RealAudio Decoder do you have? If you have and want to keep using the new one (through the DirectShow decoder, works much better but requires RealAlternative and this may set up conflicts with RealAudio) but you get an error message when you try to play it through WMP, see Christina's FAQ here:
For those who have experienced or may be experiencing problems converting real media files .ra, .rm to anything else, even after installing the DirectShow codec, Real Alternative and teh DirectShow filters, here is a thread that showcases the kind of steps taken to understand and to solve the issue.: http://forum.dbpoweramp
3. If you are using the new RealAudio Codec and don't want to mess with RealAlternative, you can try the old RealAudio decoder (which is slower and requires RealPlayer v8, don't know if its upwards compatible) available throught Codec Central here: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-ra.htm
