How Do I Normalize Volume When I Rip CD's?

    Hello every one :smile2: !!!

I am a new user of dbpowerAMP. It is an Excellent program. This is my question:

I have noticed that some of the songs that I have ripped, the volume goes down then up again, this happens in the same song. I use the optimun settings suggested by dbpowerAMP in the help menu. I set it up as follows.....Both Channels and Frequency to [as source] and in the Advance Options I chose Alt Preset Insane because I want highest quality sound since I dj on weekend using my laptop. The results are GREAT but like I say in some of the songs, the volume goes down then up again. Is there a way I can normalize the volume when I rip the cd's?

Thank you in advance for your answer and help with this issue. :smile2:

Volume Normalization is a DSP option available through the PowerPack. Open the files you wish to normalize in dMC (dBpowerAMP Music Converter), set you desired format and settings, and you should see a button that says DSP effects. Click on that button and scan the menu in the DSP window to select Volume Normalization. I would suggest that you first try Simple Volume Normalization set at 0 dB. If that turns out to be too loud, you might try a lowewr setting. If the quiet sections are still too quiet, you might try Adaptive Volume Normalization. There are some further instructions about Volume Normalization in your Help files (go Start>All Programs>dBpowerAMP Music Converter>Help>dMC Power Pack Help and check the section on DSP Effects.

    Best wishes,
    Bill
