[COLOR=SandyBrown]I have a Motorola V551 and am able to choose songs from a selection at the Cingular site, but I want to modify and install my own songs from a cd or other device. In particular, I have a song for the Superbowl that I want to download to my phone but it's 2 mgs and need to cut it down. Can you help me?

Re: Modify mp3 to download for mobile phone ringtone
To edit to file (i.e. shorten, cut, etc.) you will need an audio editor, such as Cool Edit Pro, but here is a link for a free audio editor called Audacity. As far as installing the mp3 onto your phone, I believe you would need to get a USB adapter cable and install a program called Bitpim. Go to www.howardforums.com or www.wirelessadvisor.com for more info.
Download Audacity for free. A free multi-track audio editor and recorder. Audacity is a free, easy-to-use, multi-track audio editor and recorder for Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux and other operating systems. Audacity is free software, developed by a group of volunteers and distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL).Last edited by ferris209; January 08, 2005, 02:29 PM.
