decompress .cda's

I was trying to convert a CDA to MP3 but was told that the file needs to be decompressed...how do I do that?......I have version 11 installed with no additional CODEC's

Was that teh same way you were trying to rip the cd using dMC Audio CD Input? Or using dMC simply and selecting a track from the cd?
