Getting files into iPod - How?

What does one have to do to encode a MP4/M4A file so that it can be downloaded into an iPod?

Getting iTunes to play the file isn't a problem.

Install the mp4 encoder and decoder.

Been there, done that. Created a whole bunch of mp4 files. Gave a couple to a co-worker to see if he could get them into his iPod. Whilw iTunes could work with the files just fine, a transfer to the iPod did nothing, i.e., the files never showed up in the song listings.

      Hence my reason for asking.

Sorry for not providing the above background when I first posted the question. I know better than that.

You could try Sveta to transfer to the iPod.
