Is it true CD's don't lose quality or change in any way when ripped to MP3 LAME?

Re: ripping with LAME
The cd itself doesn't change in any way compared when you rip from them apart from the normal (and generally neglible) amount of wear and tear you would get from playing the cd on the same drive. This is true whether you are ripping to mp3 Lame or any other format.
If you comparre the audio information on the cd to the audio information on your ripped mp3 Lame tracks, you will find that the ripped tracks will feature a loss of audio information compared to the original cd. Depending on how compressed these mp3 files, you may or may not notice a difference between the ripped files and the original cd tracks. You can avoid this loss altogether by ripping to a lossless format such as Monkeys Audio or FLAC.
Hopoe this helps.
