    play music

OK. You're going to laugh at me. But I'm old, and we don't have kids to help. Years ago, I had dbamp, am am pretty sure I was able to play music off my hard drive, thru the computer. And I have recently downloaded the new version of db amp. But I do not see any places on it that allows me to play music. Can any of you pro's point to a pull down that does that? I do see that there is an Asset UpnP that appears it might allow me to. Apparently another software to buy. I will be hooking a terabyte to our home stereo - an "old" system with separate components. I'll hook this laptop to the pre-amp. Any suggestions for me??

Dbpa is for ripping CDs and converting files. It is not a player. Install foobar2000 program on laptop and use that as your player.

dBpoweramp Audio Player (dAP) is discontinued.

Asset UPnP is a DLNA and UPnP compatible audio server, that streams audio to audio players.

As a player, I use foobar2000, which is a free player.
