finding the sample rate and bit depth on a music file using a MacBook Pro

I recently switched from a PC to MacBook Pro. When using my PC if I hovered the cursor over a music file a pop up would appear with file information such as codex type, compression quality..., and it would also show the sample rate and bit depth. Does anyone know if this feature available with the OS operating system? Or how I may get this information using my MacBook Pro?

You are best using Batch Converter and enabling the columns you want to examine, the files in a folder will be presented in a list. OSX has no popup in the operating system.
