Two instances of dBpoweramp software - cannot uninstall old version

Bought the R16 version to upgrade existing R14.....install went fine but find I still have the R14 software installed as well.
    - Only the R16 version is listed in Control Panel > Programs & Features > Uninstall...
    - no Uninstaller in the R14 File Folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp)

    R16 has installed to C:\Program Files\dBpoweramp

    How do I uninstall R14?

    Thnx.

    Run this:

...also how to do a full reset of dBpoweramp? (if dBpoweramp crashes for some reason) Where does dBpoweramp save its files / settings? It is installed to c:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp or c:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp The 64 bit version of dBpoweramp is installed to: c:\Program Files\dBpoweramp It

I have this same problem... but I do NOT want to "Totally Clear dBpoweramp from the System" and "reset everything".

I just want to delete the R14 from my system and the Start menu while keeping my settings and the new R16.
How do I remove R14 from my start menu and program files while retaining R16 and all of my settings?
        Thanks!

Do you still have the R14 install?

I'm not sure I understand this question.

            a) Are you asking if I have the original R14 installation program (dMC-R14-Ref-Registered.exe) ?
Amazingly I do! But it appears to only give an installation option when I start it?

            b) Or maybe you mean, is the R14 program installed? Yes it is in: C \Program Files (x86) \ Illustrate \ dBpoweramp
I could just delete those, but I think that will leave me with the start menu stuff still... ?

You would uninstall R16, then install R14, then uninstall R14, then install R16. All settings are preserved this way.

Is there any way to export/import the settings, just in case?

                  Backup the Windows registry:

                  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Illustrate

Re: Two instances of dBpoweramp software - cannot uninstall old version

                    1) Uninstalled R16.4, restarted the machine.

                    2) Re-installed R14, restarted the machine.

                    3) Attempted to uninstall R14 from the settings menu and received this error:

                    Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\SpoonUninstall.exe'

                    4) I looked, and there is no uninstaller in the start menu.

                    5) Searched the PC and found two instances of SpoonUninstall.exe, but none of them offered to uninstall, they both asked to install.

                    6) Installed R14 again and restarted the machine. just for the heck of it.
Uninstall from the settings menu still fails.

Lo and behold 'UninstallDMC' is now in the start menu!
This works! But it does leave behine the dBpoweramp DSP Effects Release 6.

                    7) The Uninstaller for dBpowerampDSP effects in the settings menu fails:
                    Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\SpoonUninstall.exe'

How can I remove the dBpoweramp DSP effects?

Ok, I got it! I had to use the OLD Uninstall Programs!

Run this to bring up the old style "Uninstall Programs":

                      rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL appwiz.cpl

From there I was able to uninstall the dBpoweramp DSP effects.

And... it's all good now. Thanks!
