    Folder Naming System

    Hi,

New user here, I am trialling dbPoweramp at the moment until I can get it set up just right.
Unfortunately I've never been very good with trying to understand file naming systems with []'s and such.

When I create a multi-disc album, I'd like it to not have the ",Disc 1" part as this will not be visible on the device I'm playing the music on. Instead I'd like it so that each multi-disc appears as a single album folder and the CDs are sorted into order with tracks i.e. All of CD1 would play first, then CD2 etc etc.

    Sort of as follows:
    Album Artist\Album Title\CD1 Track 1 - Title
    " "\CD1 Track 2 - Title
    " "\ CD2 Track 1 - Title

Would it be possible to order them like this without each track 1 lining up, each track 2 doing the same etc.

    Thanks!

Try using the default Naming string and add the disc tag to the start of the filename.

That should work for sorting them by disc in terms of tracks, how about removing the ", Disc 1" from the album folder name?

Are you using the default Naming string? What is you current Naming string, can you post it here please?

Also, just in case the album tag data contains Disc 1 you will have to remove it, before ripping.

My current string appears like this:
          [IFVALUE]album artist,[album artist],[IFCOMP]Various Artists[][IF!COMP][artist][][]\[album]\[disc] [track]- [title]

Pretty much the default but with disc tag at the beginning of and artist removed from filename.

It gives a structure like this:
          Album Artist\Album Title\1 05- Title

But if multi-disc, it then appears like this:
          Album Artist\Album Title, Disc 1\2 05- Title

I don't want the additional , Disc x to the album title

As I said, if the the album tag data contains Disc 1 you will have to (manually) remove it, before ripping.

Ah, no way to automatically remove that part? Oh well, manually it is I suppose!
Thanks for your help, I'll mark as solved.

I don't see CD metadata with album populated with Disc x. I don't think this is a normal occurrence.

Out of interest, which CD set are you seeing this behaviour?
