    Moving from PC to MAC

IM going from PC running Vista to a new MacBook Pro. How do I move music which is in wma format to MAC.
Do I load software to PC or to MAC , I prefer loading to MAC as I will toss the PC when done.
So, can I move the files to the MAC then convert. Will this preserve the art?

It is more about your player, you need to find a player on the mac which can play WMA.

If the encoding is WMA lossless then you can convert with dBpoweramp to Apple Lossless.

Still unclear as to what machine I purchase and load your software, The PC or the Mac? I prefer the Mac as I will toss the PC as soon I get the music over to the MAC.
The file type says 'windows media audio file (.wma)'. I don't know if this is lossless or not.

Do I understand your statement correctly. If it's lossless, I can only convert to apple lossless? If not lossless what can I convert too.?
you suggest getting a wma player, that seems restrictive. As I will move forward in the Apple world, adding new music to the library, etc. so I need to convert to acc or another format suitable for the Mac so the entire library is same
      Thank you for your patience.

You have stated that you are changing platforms (Windows PC to Apple Mac), so I think Spoon is suggesting that if your files are wma lossy, then you will need a mac player that supports the wma format, because it is not advisable to convert lossy files, as the audio quality is reduced.

However, if your files are wma lossless, the mac player is not such an issue, as you can convert them on the Windows PC to Apple lossless (or other lossless formats that you can easily play on the Mac) before moving to the new platform.
