Re: How do I whilst converting files keep the original the bitrate as it was?
It is not possible to match the old bitrate, the reason being, converting lossy >> lossy is not the same as CD >> lossy, so converting a 128kbps mp3 to 128kbps mp3 is not recommended.
Re: How do I whilst converting files keep the original the bitrate as it was?
I understand but it seems that when i want to perform only a DSP action (EG Gaining) i always also must select the audio conversion or am i wrong? See attachement please. Tnx again.
Re: How do I whilst converting files keep the original the bitrate as it was?
That is correct, compresses audio has to be first uncompressed, an effect applied, then recompressed. If your player is replaygain compatible, or is an apple player, then you can use ID Tags to set the volume adjustment instead without converting.

One can "convert to" the ReplayGain DSP using the batch converter and this will add ReplayGain tags to your files. This action is NOT converting your audio. It is untouched by this process.
