    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall

Find in there and remove the entry.

Run this to clear every file:

...also how to do a full reset of dBpoweramp? (if dBpoweramp crashes for some reason) Where does dBpoweramp save its files / settings? It is installed to c:\Program Files\Illustrate\dBpoweramp or c:\Program Files (x86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp The 64 bit version of dBpoweramp is installed to: c:\Program Files\dBpoweramp It

There are no entries relating to either dbpoweramp or Illustrate in that registry location. Looking at the article (Totally Clearing.....) I have manually deleted anything in program files etc. I ran the https://www.dbpoweramp.com/install/dBpoweramp-Reset.exe program and then rebooted.
The two entries are still showing in 'add/remove programs' and still get the same 'missing file' message if I try and uninstall.
      Not good.
HOWEVER, I then did a search in the registry and found two entries:
      Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\M icrosoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\dBpowera mp DSP Effects
      Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\M icrosoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\dBpowera mp Music Converter
I have deleted these and rebooting now.....I'll post the outcome in a minute.

The two entries in 'add/remove programs' have gone. Getting there.
However, I now have no DBpoweramp apps installed - I did install a few hours ago the trial 2025 version and subsequently uninstalled it (i.e. no dbpoweramp stuff on my PC).
So, I'm surprised to see my start menu has the entries below in there.
Click image for larger version Name:	image.png Views:	0 Size:	101.9 KB ID:	334889
These look like they are a mixture of the 'old' install and also the 2025 version. In any case, they should not be there.

Plus, and going back the failing uninstall, I've had a poke around program files and found both C:\Program Files (x86)\SpoonUninstall and C:\Program Files\SpoonUninstall! The uninstall was pointing at C:\Windows\system32\SpoonUninstall.exe. Not really surprising the 'old' uninstall failed.

You can manually delete those, reinstalling the trial will correct.

The issue was you had the 32 bit version of dBpoweramp installed, the trial is 64 bit so will not overwrite the old.

I had uninstalled the old version - several 'bits' were left hanging around - shortcuts, items in program files etc. The shortcuts should have been removed and we shouldnt have to manually delete anything - I'm reasonably tech savvy, someone not so would give up.
It is not correct say installing the new version would correct the start menu - it didnt (I noticed this before).
The uninstall of the two items in 'add/remove programs' was pointing to an incorrect path. I notice you didnt mention this.
The actual uninstall .exe was in two locations (both wrong). No mention of this either.
The advice given for the registry entries was incorrect. Again, no mention of this.
In general not a good experience. On the plus side, the new version does seem to be a big improvement. I hope the support will improve correspondingly.

What is your OS? Has this been installed originally or did you upgrade the OS inplace? What has been the original OS on that machine?

Hi Dat, my last (longer) post was in response to Spoon.
My OS is windows 10, PC was rebuilt from scratch and all my programs/apps freshly installed afterwards (including dbpoweramp).
The uninstall should be clean and easy and leave no traces. I had to go and search the registry and then edit it, the paths for the uninstall script was wrong, the info given for the registry location was wrong, short cuts were not removed etc etc.
It shouldnt have to be like that. Thank you though for your input.

Something on the system removed the uninstaller. Hence the issues.

The uninstallers were not removed. It was in two places, neither of which where it should have been. And no way was it me, I don't go near program files.
                    But guess it was 'something'.
You havent explained why your info about the registry entries was incorrect, in fact you havent even acknowledged your info was wrong.
And your general attitude of 'nothing to with me' is not in line with a customer focussed outfit.

If something is in Wow64Node it just means it is a 32 bit program and the OS transforms the path automatically, the program might think it is in one location but it is not, that is perfectly normal.

"The Wow6432Node node is a virtual registry key within the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software hive on a 64-bit Windows system that serves as the 32-bit equivalent for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software. When a 32-bit application running on a 64-bit OS accesses the registry, the WOW64 (Windows on Windows 64) registry redirector automatically directs its request to the physical location under Wow6432Node, ensuring 32-bit applications interact with their own separate registry view."
