    Faster rips

Maybe this has been addressed, but I can't find it doing a search...but most times my cd drive will "spin up" and rip very fast (up to 40x or more speeds) and other times it is stuck at 7x - 15x max. I have tried the program options, enabled and disabled settings on my computer for my cd drive, and a few other things, but it appears to be completely random. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, is there any way for my discs to be "remembered" when I make changes to the meta data that is presented? For example, I prefer to have every word capitalized, and have all of my files listed by last name, but upon changing it to this, and re-inserting a disc, the changes I made disappear.

It is your cd drive which decides the maximum speed to rip a certain disc at, it cannot be changed.

If dBpoweramp cache is enabled in the metadata options, your changes will be remembered for a number of discs.
