Re: CD Ripper Can't find path to NAS

    Hey qdshayes,

please try to follow these steps:

1.) Logon to your NAS (via web browser).
    2.) Goto the control panel.
3.) Goto Network Services and click on Win/Mac/NFS.
4.) In the following dialog activate the file service for Microsoft networking.

Now you should see the standard shared folders.

If you need additional shares, goto "Privilege Settings" and click on "Shared Folders". There you can create new shared folders. Don't forget to create user accounts and grant privileges those users, if you want to restrict the privileges on thoses shares.

      Hi Dat Ei,

Many thanks for your help, I had those settings in place already and now miraculously CD Ripper can see the NAS! I have no idea what changed but that problem is fixed now, thank you.

      Regards,

Re: CD Ripper Can't find path to NAS

Ha! I spoke too soon. I've managed to rip one CD and then every disc after that results in me being told that there are errors on virtually every track. It seems that CD Ripper is unable to see my NAS again now, for no apparent reason, and I can see nothing I can change to improve matters.

I bought this software because it was going to make ripping my CD collection easy and reliable. One disc down, 599 to go.....

          Hey qdshayes,

just for interest: did you assign a drive letter to the NAS share?

I rip my CDs to the local HDD and then synchronize the rip folder to the NAS by using Windows robocopy. This workflow works very well. Maybe this is a practicable workflow for you too.

You are best to rip to your local music folder, then copy and paste the files with Windows Explorer onto the NAS. A network share needs to be available 100% of the time for CD Ripper to write to it, some shares only reactivate when browsed with Windows File Explorer.

              Hi Dat Ei,

Again, thank you for your help. That is indeed what I shall have to do and I'm pleased to say that it seems to be working.
