    Converting Wave to m4a

Hello. I don't understand how you convert a wave file to m4a in DBpowerAMP. When you use "Apple Lossless", it doesn't give you any choices on the quality. I thought you can have various degrees of quality, just like MP3's. But when I converted a wave file, it just converts it straight out to a fairly large size of about the 3/4 the size of a wave file. In iTunes you get to choose on your quality. Any insight is appreciated.

Lossless is lossless (like Zip), Apple Lossless and Wave are 100% the same as the CD.

Mp3 and iTunes created AAC (m4a) are lossy, that is audio is removed to get a smaller file. To create the same files as iTunes install the AAC m4a (Nero) codec (from codec central above).
