How can I configure CD Ripper so it uses a certain set of defaults on start up?

You mean to automatically load a profile? you would have to set the registry entry -

CDRipperProfile

in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Illustrate\dBpoweramp

my dbpa always starts with the same profile (the one I saved as "default" in the lower left side of the dbpa CD ripper screen. I didn't have to do anything to my registry.
