I have ripped some CD's with the dBpoweramp into flac.
When I play the flac files on my Bryston digital player the player correctly identifies the file type as 44.1khz but the bitrate varies between only 400Kb/sec and 700 Kb/sec. When the same CD is played ripped with window madia player into WAVE file the bitrate is correctly indicated as 1411Kb/sec.
I am concerned if some resolution is being lost in the process of ripping,
it sounds almost like a lossy compression?
Any idea would be helpful since I have considerable library to rip.
