renaming tracks and albums in FLAC

I am new to high resolution music therefore some basic question:
After downloading FLAC files 192/24 in my PC music library, I would like to rename the tracks and/ or albums. When I do it in computer library the updated information does not remain but reverts to old description as soon as I transfer it to my external hard drive to be played on my player.
This does not happen with my wav files ripped from the CD's.
How can I rename permanently the FLAC files so the information stays?

Often filenames are not important, it is the embedded id tags, select a file right click >> Edit ID Tag
