I have installed the db music converter rev 14 and tried to install the aac codec r14.2. The installation is runnig but no aac codec can be choosen. Its still chaging after the double click to the db website for donloading and installation.

I uninstalled all dbprogs and installed the progs again with the same result.

    Can somebody help my?

Have a look at the help file presented after installing the AAC codec, you have to visit nero.com and get another component.

Mr Spoon, I think I have gotten the correct file from Nero, and have unzipped it. But I still can not get the M4b conversation to work. With the package I downloaded, there was no information saying that the files should be placed in a certain directory. Where do they actually go ?? I understand that this is not your package, or it would work properly, as all the other codecs and such.

You would install the 'm4a Nero AAC Encoder Release 1' from:

Then follow the instructions in the help file of where to place the nero components.

OK ! One set of those instructions I had never seen before. Somehow I had not been directed, or carried to that page. Now all seems to work good. Except... <g> there seems to be a popping noise in the converted file. Is this normal ? Possible something within the program? Or possibly interference from some other process that is running.

Had one program that I use a lot that developed a similar problem. Once I was able to run it down, I found it was caused by my Protection Suite. Some of their scans and such had been changed, and it had created a problem. Had to get a new Protection Program.

So, before I go to looking and tracing, I thought I would ask to see if it is something inherent with the conversion program.

Thanks again for all your help

You would have to convert to Wave and play that file in Windows Media Player to make sure the popping error was not in the source file.
