    iTunes not aware

Ripped an album and its in the folder with my other iTunes ripped CDs. But iTunes doesn't "recognize" the album. How do I make iTunes aware of the new music?

If ripped to FLAC then iTunes cannot read such.

For iTunes to automatically detect & add the new music (which I'll assume you ripped to an iTunes-compatible format), you need to rip it to the "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder. iTunes will then create its own folder for it and add it to your library.

If you prefer to organize your music folders yourself, rather than letting iTunes do it, you'll need to manually direct iTunes to add the music. From within iTunes, go to File -> Add Folder to Library....then browse to & select the folder.
