I'm trying to convert FLAC 48/24 5.1 files to ALAC 48/24 5.1 using dBpoweramp Music Converter: Registered Reference Release 14.1. However I get the following error:
Error Apple Lossless accepts only 16 / 24 bit, mono or stereo.
According to Spoon's audio guide though (http://www.applelossless.com/) alac, "Supports: 16 & 24 bit, multi channel & high frequency audio"
I can convert with dBpoweramp to aif files that maintain the same 48/24 5.1 characteristics but I'd prefer the smaller alac files if possible.
If dBpoweramp can't do it is there any other way? A little more off topic but will these resulting files play in itunes on my home stereo in 5.1? Research says they will but haven't actually tried it.
Thanks
