aiff tags

have some songs on my laptop in aiff. When I play these in itunes, all the tags: artist, album, songs, etc show up without a problem. Would like to move these to my Nas and play them through the squeezebox touch. When I go into windows explorer and right click on the track (Edit ID-tag), none of the tags show up. Any ideas why? it says there are no tags

How to work around this problem? Normally I convert to WAV or FLAC and store on my Nas.

Please advise.

I am guessing that iTunes is holding the ID Tags internally, not in the files.

so do I have to retag all of them or is there a way to get it out of itunes?

There might be some script you can run on iTunes, not sure though.
